There are 15 questions in a test. 2 points are awarded for every correct answer, and 1 point is deducted for every wrong answer. If a candidate scores 21 points, how many correct answers did he get?

The correct answer is 12. Since the highest score you can get is a 30 I subtracted 15 from 30 to get 9. Then I subtracted 9 from 15 to get 6. Lastly, i multiplied 6X2 to get 12.
